Jim Jonson Nissan has good news for followers of our blog! Once again, Nissan has proven that its vehicles are some of the most popular in the automotive industry with its increase in sales, best-ever month averages and year-to-date increases in overall sales reports. The end of April has shown a spring in the Japanese automaker's step due to a monumental jump of 23.2 percent, year-over-year, with specific Nissan Division sales up 24.6 percent for the month.
How did Nissan achieve such success? Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Nissan Americas, Jose Munoz explains, "Our strong performance in April was driven largely by double and even triple digit increases on some of our core products, such as Altima up more than 35 percent, Sentra up nearly 45 percent, Rogue up 39 percent and the all-new Pathfinder up over 214 percent."1
Also joining the Altima, Sentra and Pathfinder is the all-electric Nissan LEAF, which is maintaining its success from March as best sales month. Munoz further details, "Nissan LEAF sales are now up over 160 percent year-to-date. The wider array of trim levels and lower price driven by the start of U.S. LEAF production at our Smyrna plant are bringing more new customers to our showrooms every day."2
