Japanese automaker Nissan sure does have a reputation for innovation when it comes to EVs and hybrids like the Nissan LEAF EV and the unreleased 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid.
Here at Jim Johnson Nissan, we have recently learned that the brand is now working on developing an all-electric commercial van, called the Nissan e-NV200.
The brand has begun field-testing for the new 100 percent electric compact van in Saitama City, Japan. This Japanese city is currently in the middle of a movement, called the E-KIZUNA project, with the goal of increasing the number of all-electric vehicles on roads to improve the overall air quality for residents. Nissan first joined this project back in 2009 and has been dedicated to working closely with the city to continue to improve air quality through new ideas technologies. We wouldn't be surprised if this type of campaign is implements in U.S. cities with high levels of air pollution in the future.
The e-NV200 supplies a great performance with a quiet ride and smooth acceleration with its borrowed powertrain from the LEAF, all while releasing zero CO2 emissions. Pretty impressive and the fact that it helps keep our Earth green only makes the vehicle more attractive.
