The all new 2013 Nissan Altima hasn't even hit the lots of Jim Johnson Nissan yet and some automotive experts are predicting a strong sales year. Cars.com editors predict that the competition between the Altima and the Camry will be vicious for the rank of Best Selling Car in America.

It might seem like a bold statement at a glance, but Cars.com isn't making this estimation on a whim. "Overall, with the improving economy, we expect 2012 new car sales to jump roughly 15 percent over 2011," explains Kelsey Mays, Cars.com Automotive Analyst. "Taking the redesign of the Altima into account, we'd expect the 2013 Altima to outsell its 2012 predecessor by 39 percent by year's end, 24 percentage points above our expected market growth."1

Other aspects that are taken into consideration by Cars.com are historical sales data for a large variety of redesigned models. More specifically Cars.com saw that there is a 30-percent increase in sales on the average redesigned model. So we know what you might be thinking, why would they estimate 39 percent for the Altima?

The answer to that question would be that the 2012 Nissan Alitma's sales are larger than ever before leading them to believe that the 2013 Nissan Altima will make a large impact on car buyers. Demand for mid-sized cars is relatively large and when you combine that with the recovering economy Cars.com predicts more sales for the future.

And when will greater Bowling Green area drivers be able to test drive the 2013 Nissan Altima? It should be available this July at Jim Johnson Nissan.
