The Nissan GT-R - one of the most coveted roadsters in America. For years, the GT-R was not even available in North America, much to the dismay of many Japanese sports car enthusiasts in The States. Only a few years have passed since Nissan decided to export "Godzilla" to a US audience. And now it's official - the 2012 GT-R will come to over at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Nissan unveiled the GT-R in Japan this week, while making the announcement it would also be on display at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show this November.
Few details were released on the updated GT-R, shown in many press photos as an alluring Aurora Flare Blue Pearl color. The sports car, which has an expected price of just over $100,000, also comes in Meteo Flake Black Pearl.
CNET took a closer look at 2012's GT-R, and speculated on performance specs (which have to to come out, we'll expect some in November) -
"Nissan has made changes to the body's GT-R structure, setting it apart from previous models. No performance details were officially released. However, Inside Line today reported the GT-R will deliver 523 horsepower and 451 pound-feet of torque--over the 2011 GT-R's 485 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. The site also reported that the car's fuel economy has gotten 20 mpg, on average, on Japanese road tests."
