Nissan has entered market that they have never stepped into before, the commercial van. Nissan hopes to corner the market for construction workers, electricians and delivery people. Now, the official specifications and pricing options have been announced. The all new Nissan NV will start at $24,590 and span upwards of $32,190.
The NV1500 van will come standard with a 4.0-liter V6 engine. NV2500 HD will have a choice of the V6 engine or a 5.6-liter V8. The NV3500 HD will come standard with the V8. All engines are attached to a five-speed automatic transmission. Both standard and high-roof models will be available when the NV hits the dealership's lots.
Other features included in this new van are full rear doors, water-repellent cloth seats, mounting points in the cargo area, and a lockable center console to keep files or store a laptop.
The NV is manufactured at Nissan's Canton, MS assembly facility. It will be sold at select Nissan Commercial dealers starting in the spring of 2011.
