Another month has passed and subscribers to our blog know that this means that it's time for another sales update from Nissan. 2013 has been a year of sustainable change to the brand's lineup, with five of its best-selling core models receiving massive updates. These changes have greatly impacted the brand's sales positively with these flagship models experiencing the trend of serious gains.

This continues to be the case for August of 2013, with the sales of 120,498 new Nissan models in the U.S., which reflects an impressive gain of 22.3 percent year-over-year. Not only is this a gain in terms of yearly sales, it is also a record for the Japanese automaker and will go down in the record books at their six month of uninterrupted sales gains and best August sales to date.

Wondering exactly how successful some of Nissan's flagship models were?

Nissan Core Model Sales in August by Numbers:

  • The Altima sold 30,976 models for a gain of 19.6 percent year-over-year
  • The Sentra sold 12,605 units for a gain of 18.7 percent year-over-year
  • The Rogue sold 17,273 models for a gain of  36.8 percent year-over-year
  • The Pathfinder sold 8,859 units for a gain of 258.4 percent year-over-year
  • The Versa sold 9,991 models for a gain of 8.8 percent year-over-year

As you can see, these redesigned models are garnering a record amount of attention and sales. In fact, Fred Diaz, Nissan's Divisional Vice President of Sales and Marketing suggests, ""If you haven't been in a Nissan showroom in the last 12 months, you may not recognize much of it-as we continue to bring out new vehicles, the average model age is down 40 percent from a year ago."1.
